about the Jewellery
The art of glass beadmaking…
…rods of Italian glass are heated in an oxygen /propane flame to melting point and wrapped around a stainless steel mandrel dipped in clay.
Each bead is individually made.
A large palette of coloured rods is used to decorate the bead and virtually paint designs on the glass. After the bead has cooled in a kiln overnight, the mandrel is removed and the hole of the bead is left in its place. From there the bead becomes a part of a piece of jewellery.
